Houston, we have a problem

Dear Mr. McQueen,
Your latest RTW line was a disaster in heels. Please allow it to go back to whatever watery cave it came from and die.
Thanks,
Natalie

Really. did anyone see it? It was supposed to be underwater theme. Actually, it was just bizarre. I mean, the shoes were totally un-wearable and the outfits. He made a crystalled ballet/jumpsuit/?. It's on the side. Decide for yourselves what it is and comment down below. Umm, his line just left me confused and ready to gag. You definitely know you have a problem if Lady Gaga starts wearing your stuff. Did anyone listen to bad romance? She wore that thing! yes that weird sparkle jumpsuit ugliness. And, some of his totally unwearable shoes. SCARY SHOES. They defy gravity and logic. How do you even walk in those? I was thoroughly disappointed by his line. I know his whole thing is avant-garde, but this crosses the line. Only Lady Gaga would wear this. And when that happens, boy have you got some problems.

(on a side note. You know what spring RTW 2010 line I loved? You guessed it. Chanel. except for the clogs. euwwwwwww)

"And when the world treats you way too fairly, It's a shame I'm a dream..."

All I wanted :: Paramore

Brand New Eyes (Paramore's new album. duh) is totally obsession worthy. It's great. But, you know what's really great? These genius little footzyrolls things. Plus, they are so cute! And only $25.  They're little flats that roll up so you can stick them into your clutch, tote, bag, whatever. I mean, have you ever tried walking in heels for more than an hour? That horrible burning sensation in the balls of your feet? Yup, that's what these are for. They totally solve that little problem. Just stick them into your bag, and poof! All foot problems officially solved. Now, I don't really like the current colors that much, but the patent ones will be totally cute, I'm positive. Much better than carrying around a regular pair of flats.

"I've never made a bet, but we gamble in desire..."

Jasey Rae :: All Time Low

Oxfords. Yup, I'm obsessed with oxfords. I mean, this season is so menswear inspired, so why not wear a pair of girly oxfords? I love the steve madden ones in cognac.  Plus, they're not too expensive! In actuality,  my favorites are the louboutin fred flat in glittery silver. Everyone needs a little jazz in their life, right? Don't even say they're old man shoes. I don't see old men wearing glittery shoes do you? They'd look great with a boyfriend blazer and a floral dress. Or, some menswear shorts over tights. It doesn't really matter though. Insert large sigh here. These go for about $700 I believe. The steve madden ones will have to do. Although, those are not exactly cheap either. ($70) But they are $630  less. So, in fact they seem pretty attainable.

It's the vanity cam!

So, I know this isn't fashion related but it's just too uberly awesome to pass up. Samsung just came out with a new camera (pre-order. duh), the TL225. Which, totally solves all future self-portrait conundrums! It has two screens, one on the back, and one on the front so you can make sure your in the picture. No more asking potentially strange strangers to hold your camera! (what if they take it! the horror!) It is a tad pricey, it goes for around $350 for the TL225, and $300 for the TL220. Of course, you could always get it from amazon and save around $50 for the TL225. I'm pretty sure this is the raddest point and shoot I have ever seen. Maybe except for the nikon coolpix, but anyways. Hmm, would you rather have that new pair of marc jacobs flats or the vanity cam?

"If it's a million to one shot, I'll make sure I'm the one..."

Before I fall to pieces :: Razorlight

I'm pretty sure I'm obsessed. No surprise there, right? Ah, but what am I obsessed with? Well currently, it's the 5preview amor cavour shirt (pictured left). And, it is so obsession worthy. It looks slightly chanel, slightly graphic tee, and totally cool. Jeans and urbanoutfitters keds? Ta-da! gorgeous outfit. I'm not obsessing at all. Nope, not at all. I was thinking, Wow! this could be the one obsession worthy item I could actually afford! How fantastic would that be? Alas, it was not meant to be. The only place I could find 5preview tees were on their website (5preview.blogspot.com) and they went for around 68 euros. Wait, WHAT? Yup, 68 euros. Of course, the one I want is on sale. It's practically free at 58 euros. NOT. Plus shipping it's 63 euros. (side note: Is anyone else annoyed by the cost of shipping? You could practically buy another item with the amount of money it costs to ship things. The HORROR!) That translates into somewhere around $94. That is so happening. Anyways,  I love that tee, and practically all 5preview tees, I mean come on. Look at that gorgeousness! Every time I look at that shirt I sigh. SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH. Maybe it'll be a christmas present. A girl can dream can't she?

"Let the good times roll, we can let go, everybody knows there's a party at the end of the world..."

-Hello Brooklyn :: All time Low

Well, my trip to Zara was slightly disappointing, I found out that the cape that I loved was actually a coat! Extremely disappointing, but oh well. Anyways, the next day I was walking down Newbury Street, and saw the Hermes store. Now, that place is just about perfection as it is (Who doesn't love hermes orange?) but it was even better because they had a pair of riding boots in the window! Now, recently, I've been slightly, make that majorly, obsessing over riding boots. The hermes ones are so TDF! The little kelly turnlock on the side is amazing. Of course, they do run for about $1,750 (I think?). Hermes is so expensive. Just like the birkin. Please, I really hope you know what a birkin bag is, if you don't, where have you been living? Anyways, I also adore the church's michelle riding boots. Well, that's so out of my price range, so Hunter wellies it is! Here they are featured in the kelly calache ad. have fun ogling. I know I did!

Oh, my, goodness.

Well, my first post was about capelets/capes, and that gorgeous elizabeth and james one that I totally adore. So, I was obsessing, but guess what I found? the almost exact cape from Zara! Not exactly sure how much it is, but I'll find out.
Later gators,
Nat

"I have dreams of orca whales and owls, but I wake up in fear..."

-Hotel Song :: Regina Spektor

This blazer is so obsession worthy. I mean, look at it! Sequins and a boyfriend blazer combined? What is not to like? It's so gorgeous. Sequins are so the thing right now. There are sequins on dresses, shoes ( my personal fave), and just about everything in between! Wear the blazer over a black dress, really any color dress. I mean really, it's black! Black is technically the most versatile color ever. I mean really, it goes with everything. I've loved boyfriend blazers ever since, FOREVER! Or maybe since the came back. I found a cute double breasted one from Bluefly.com for $57, which is pretty good for a blazer if you ask me. And, the double breasted part makes it more original than the other ones. I'm so obsessing over blazers. Sigh. Sequins=LOVE. Want to check out the double breasted one?

"Can't stop, won't stop, I must be dreaming..."

-I must be dreaming :: The Maine

Unlike the Anna Sui line, this one was totally not a flop. Which one? Christopher Kane for topshop no duh! I mean, when I heard about this, I gasped. I mean, there was no way life could be this perfect. Christopher Kane for topshop? Of course, it wasn't. There was this gorgeous dress he did, (pictured right) of course it was sold out though! Unfortunately, I don't think they'll be getting more in. SIGH. Plus, it was $310 dollars, so not cheap at all. Still, he did a absolutely breath-taking beaded tee for $90. While not exactly cheap, it could be considered an investment piece. Considering that j.crew did an extremely similar one for $125, I'd call it a steal. Style it with one of those super-soft, oversized cardigans from urban outfitters, bright ballet flats and skinny jeans. Or, go with a cute skirt with the tee tucked in. As an added bonus, you don't even need jewelry!

"I don't want to fall to pieces, I just want to sit and stare at you..."

-Fall to pieces :: Avril Lavigne

There is nothing that I would like to do more, than stare at that bag. Well, except for own it of course. It is none other than Proenza Schouler's PS1 school tote. Now, I know, PS1 doesn't exactly make you think high fashion. It probably just reminds you of your school days, but Proenza Schouler has given us a whole new spin on the school tote. Of course, it is too small to fit four 2" binders in, but no matter. This bag is divine in crocodile (pictured left), stunning in suede, and absolutely fantastically over-priced. We can overlook that last one. I mean, it only goes for the jaw-dropping, gasp-inducing, wide-eyed price of $14,500. For the crocodile one that is. The suede ones seem cheap in comparison. At only $2,350 for the extra large (the crocodile is a large), the suede seems positively affordable in comparison!

"I wanna be rich, and I want lots of money, I don't care about clever, I don't care about funny..."

The fear :: Lily Allen

Was it just me, or was anyone else totally disappointed by the gossip girl inspired Anna Sui for target line? It was ugly, expensive, and no fashion-forward person in their right mind would wear that stuff. For the price your paying for those clothes, you could get something much nicer at urban outfitters, or H&M. That leather jacket for $150? Terrible. I mean, Hello? It's Target, we're expecting cheap. That's not the worst of it though. There was that tragic table cloth dress that supposedly, Blair would wear? Aptly, it was named the Table Cloth Dress. (It's featured right over there, on the left) But, really it was worse than that. It looked like one of those old moth eaten curtains you find with your great grandmother's silver-ware in the basement. Only, it's not yellowing yet. And the blue ribbon? It looks like someone pulled it from their poodle's neck. The sleeves make you look matronly, and lace collars are really not flattering to anyone. As an added bonus? It's much too short. And of course, you could wear it with colorful tights, but what color are you going to wear with that poodle bow staring you in the face? On the flip side, I was totally blown away with the Eugenia Kim EEK line for Urban Outfitters. Best of all? Everything is under $50! For those who don't know, Eugenia Kim is only one of the biggest names in the hat and hairband business. Besides Jennifer Behr, and Jennifer Oulette of course. (Blair rocked the jennifer behr vintage gold knot headband in one episode) But as usual, not all of us can afford Blair's style. (that headband? It goes for a jaw-dropping $225) Which is why Eugenia Kim's line is so amazing! You get to snag headbands that normally go for around the $100 price point, and their more expensive siblings are favored by Gossip Girl? Count me in!

From: Moi
To: Tout le Monde
Subject: Coach Poppy

Hello Loves,
Now, on the whole I was quite disappointed by the Coach Poppy line (although the signature hearts were quite cute). Most of the line was quite horrendous, that color block coach print all over a nylon tote? Oh gag me! There were a couple of things I like though, take for instance the Evie tote (in red of course) . It was gorgeous, but it was $198! GASP. I mean seriously, it's supposed to be the affordable line. I wouldn't exactly call $200 affordable. Would you? I think not. But, their school supplies? Perfection. Now, you're going to say, wait, what? school supplies? Yes, they did have school supplies. Those being the pencils, and the notebooks. The notebooks, eh, you had to buy something like $200 dollars of stuff just to get them. Ugh, not cool. But the pencils, now those are a different story. They're on the right, over there. There are 12 of them, and they are absolutely FREE!
When I heard that I totally had one of those, "NO WAY!" moments, but yes it's true! They are positively free! All you had to do was sign up to receive their magazine and emails (fill out the form on their facebook) turn it in to the Coach store, and Ta-Da! The coach poppy pencils were yours! Unfortunately they're not giving them out anymore, but I managed to snag a box. they're gorgeous, and they save you that staples run! Score!

"I tried to do handstands for you, I tried to do handstands for you, but every time I fell on you, yes every time I fell..."

-Bruises :: Chairlift

Don't you think it would be terribly hard to do handstands in heels? hmm, I wonder if it would make a difference. Anyways, those Fendi heels are so gorgeous. It should be illegal. Yes, I know. They are a couple of seasons old, but still. You must admit, they are amazing. Sigh. I love the bow on the front, it's so chic. So, I set out to find a much cheaper version. $705 is so out of my price range. I looked online, in stores. EVERYWHERE, and no shoes! sigh. Then, one day I was walking through the Nordstroms anniversary sale (for those who don't know, the nordstroms anniversary sale is the super sale at nordstroms.) , and Poof! there they were. A pair of purple stuart weitzman's that looked exactly like the Fendi ones! Well, except for the fact they were purple, but purple is fab too. And normally, they were $300 but the nordtroms anniversary sale was on so they were almost 80% off, or something like that. yay nordstroms! If you'd like to stare at those gorgeous pumps some more, here's the link: http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/38638

"My finger tips are holding onto the cracks in our foundation, and I know that I should let go, but I can't..."

-Foundations :: Kate Nash

Other than military jackets, that song is pretty much my obsession right now. Of course, military jackets take the lead, but still. I found this totally TDF (for those not in the know TDF=To Die For) military jacket by Proenza Schouler. It's only $1,595! whoo! So not happening. But, have no fear! There are all these great military jackets around for pretty low prices. There's a gorgeous one from Express which was featured in INSTYLE this september. I also adore the one from American Eagle. The olive one that is. It's not on their website, but it's at the store. Both go for around 75 dollars, and seeing as military jackets are so the thing right now, they make great fall jackets. American Eagle also has their cadet jacket, but I'm not really feeling it. I mean, it's cute and all, but the cut isn't really great. I was totally obsessing over the Proenza Schouler one, but you know, so unattainable. Just like their PS1 school totes. sigh. But that's a different obsession. If you want to check out the express one, here it is: http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?
productId=22046&categoryId=0&parentCategoryId=0&productVariantId=90448&quantity=1&itemGUID=b37d5707c0a8ab690094aa427ba63b7f

clearly the one on the left is the proenza schouler one. sigh.

"I'm only a man, in a silly red sheet..."

-superman :: five for fighting

Now of course, superman can get a much more fashion friendly cape. I mean seriously, who wants to walk around in a silly red sheet? Pas moi! So, I found superman a new cape. Actually, capes/capelets are kind of my new obsession. Ah, but this hasn't been a fleeting obsession. Basically, I've been obsessed ever since Blair Waldorf rocked it in one episode. Unfortunately, I could never find one, but....NOW I HAVE! yay! Capes are so in right now. I adore them. I would totaly rock one with a pleated skirt (plaid maybe?), bright tights, and a plain tee. Or you could go with dark wash skinny jeans, an oxford, and one of those gorgeous square scarves (Hermes hopefully) tied around your neck. Really, you can wear it with just about anything. The capes are just a tad pricey, just a tad. That's the gorgeous Elizabeth and James one I found from net-a-porter.com. The cape itself is gasp-inducing, and so is the price. (but not in a good way) Want to know the price? It's (dun dun dun.....) $695. Gasp, right? Wallet friendly? No. Gorgeous? Yes. I'm just slightly obsessing, just slightly. Here's the link if you want to look at it some more. sigh : http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/45578

Let me tell you, I go through obsessions quite quickly.
Expect a new one...hmmm.....every day?
